5 Quick Tips to Increase Employee ProductivityRegardless of the business size, it is important for every company to ensure the productivity of its employees as it has a direct impact on the overall business success. Here the company culture plays an important role; a solid company culture can seriously improve productivity whereas an in existent or even worse, a poor company culture can ruin your employee’s motivation and productivity.

Here are the few ideas that companies can use to put in place a strong company culture that will support employee productivity on the long term.

  • Quick Morning Meetings

For big companies that have several different departments then the responsibility of organising the morning meetings is with the manager in most of the cases. For startups and smaller companies the meetings are normally held by the CEO. The general idea of the meetings is to bring the entire team together and discuss what everybody has to do for the rest of the day and check if any support is needed. Regular informal morning meetings will also help build trust and  a close relationship with employees.

Morning meetings allow your team to stay motivated and focused towards their tasks which leads to less errors, on time work and most importantly happy, engaged employees at the end of the day. Employees need to make sure that whatever they are working is being noticed and quick morning meetings exactly do this which keeps them efficient and motivated at the same time.

Morning meetings allow your team to stay motivated and focused towards main goals and tasks which of course leads to less errors. Most employees find it rewarding to know their work is being noticed and appreciated, which is exactly the role of morning meetings.

  • Safe and Secure Workspace

One thing that I faced back in my career was the outdated and insecure workspace. Many might think that investing in modern, comfortable offices is nothing but a waste of money.  Instead, having a stylish, modern and secure workspace can highly increase productivity.

Make sure that your employees are equipped with adequate computers and stylish and comfortable office equipment like office chairs and desks. When employees feel appreciated and given adequate space and equipment to perform their duties they will perform better without a doubt. Once efficiency and productivity becomes part of the company culture, the business wilt get to know new horizons.

  • Conferences and Workshops

Technology, industries and even business concepts are quick to change. It’s crucial to invest in the knowledge and skills of your staff since productivity alone can’t work alone. Job related workshops and conferences from time to time are a good way of doing it.

If companies encourage staff to attend conferences and workshops, the motivation levels will rise. I have done extra hours in the office and worked on projects that weren’t directly linked to my JD and for only one reason.  Tell my boss that the money spent on my training was never wasted.

At the end of the day the benefits of conferences and workshops will not only strengthen your relationship with the staff, but also benefit your company on the long term.

  • Rewards

If you want your employees to be more productive and motivated with something else than just the paycheck then this is something you need to introduce in the office. Try to offer small rewards when targets are hit. This doesn’t really have to be only work related. Instead you can also offer rewards for not being late for instance.

Appreciation is more important than paycheck and this statement is true for most of the employees in general. The reason is that paycheck fulfills their financial needs whereas appreciation motivates them to be more efficient and productive at the same time.

  • Talk to them

There is always a relationship between you and your staff and there will always be both ups and downs – like in any relationship. The best way to build a healthy relationship is by talking to people. The idea is to talk to them and see what they like in the company and what annoys them the most.

When you take decisions within the company by also taking into consideration staff opinions, they will be more confident about themselves and realize that their opinion matters and create a sense of belonging.

Obviously there are a lot more ideas that contribute in building a company’s culture but above are the few points that any company owner should consider, regardless of the size of their organization.
